Remember It!

My Notebook of the amazing places I have visited and the memories and experiences I don't want to forget.

My favourite eats and drinks in USA & Canada

Here is my list of the best places to eat and drink that I have visited in the USA. These are the places that I always try to return to, time permitting, when I visit these towns and Cities.

Updated: January 2016

Coffee:

  • Blue Bottle Coffee (California and New York): With stores in and around San Francisco and also New York this is one of the most well known premium coffee stores in the US.The place responsible for first getting me into good quality coffee. Although always busy it serves great cappuccinos and the hot chocolate is pretty good too.
  • Philz Coffee (San Francisco and The Bay Area, CA): So much choice, it can be a bit much the first time round but the coffee is great. Basically join the order line pick your roast based on the flavour profile (chose from a selection of dark, medium, light and decaf roasts), choose the size, decide if you want it hot or iced, pick a sweetener and say how sweet you want it (not sweet, light, medium or extra) and lastly say if you want milk/cream (other option) and say how creamy you want it (light, medium or extra). They also serve speciality drinks, I especially like the mint mojito and gingersnap iced coffees, which are great on a hot day.
  • Ritual Coffee Roasters (San Francisco, CA): my favourite coffee place in San Francisco. The espresso drinks really stand out here/
  • Barrington Coffee Roasting Company (Boston, MA): The cafes are always welcoming and light, and the espresso drinks are very good too.
  • Thinking Cup (Boston, MA): Serves stumptown coffee. Enough said. Also serves nice and resaonable sandwiches, cakes and baked goods.
